REALTORS® should continue to encourage remote showings and interactions as much as possible.
Real estate practice has changed because of COVID-19. Ensure your clients understand how these changes will impact the services you can provide as a REALTOR®.
VIREB has created a consumer infographic titled "Top 10 Actions REALTORS® Are Taking During COVID-19." Feel free to share it with clients and on social media. To acquire a copy, contact NANCY SMITH.
The Real Estate Council of British Columbia, BCREA, and the 11 regional real estate boards (including VIREB) continue to recommend against holding public open houses. As soon as the Provincial Health Officer and WorkSafeBC indicate that it's safe to proceed, BCREA and VIREB will provide support to help REALTORS® host public open houses safely again.
This is an uncertain time for all of us. REALTORS® can support their communities by being prepared to address concerns from neighbours, tenants, and other community members with understanding and professionalism.
VIREB and BCREA have created extensive online resources to support REALTORS®, spanning standard forms and considerations around contract clauses, accessing financial support, market impacts, and economic recovery.
BCREA, in collaboration with RECBC and the Office of the Superintendent of Real Estate, has developed a document called the Return-to-Safe-Work Plan: A Checklist for Managing Brokers.
